Welcome to the Welsh Food Alliance

   The Purpose of the Welsh Food Alliance is to:  


» raise awareness of healthy diets as a determinant of good health, by engaging communities in better health initiatives,

» examine the role of community development, and the role of Healthy Living Centres and local Public Health Alliances,

» encourage community responses in terms of health, access and affordability of food,

» inform and influence retailers, and decision makers at local, national and UK levels,

» increase public understanding of the role of the Welsh Food Alliance.

Commentary
WFA having thought long and hard about the words needed for this
document, the actual changes that we propose do not reflect the effort which has actually been involved! (These are indicated in blue on the document) We started with a very detailed base of nutrient statistics, but have dropped these out as the reader will see.  WFA feel that the end result will allow flexibility should SACN make changes to requirements. We would welcome comments.
