Seminar

With the Government aiming to significantly improve nutritional care for elderly people, this seminar looks at whether the plans are on track to deliver real change.

It is almost a year since the Department of Health introduced its Nutrition Action Plan, Improving Nutritional Care and set up a stakeholder board to oversee its implementation. This initiative came in response to statistics indicating unprecedented levels of malnourishment amongst elderly people taken into professional care.

This event will bring together policy makers and key stakeholders as the Nutrition Action Plan Delivery Board is due to wind up its role. Planned sessions ask:
·        One year on, how well nourished are the nation’s elderly?;
·        Latest thinking on the causes of malnutrition in elderly people;
·        Assessing the progress from the user’s point of view; and
·        The way ahead: implementing the new policies.

This important meeting is organised on the basis of strict impartiality by the Westminster Food & Nutrition Forum.

Co-operation - the beautiful idea.

Edgar Parnell  today launched his new booklet, Co-operation - the beautiful idea.  Edgar states "my aim is to provide clear and contemporary explanations about ‘co-operation’, its role and potential within the economy - and how to make it work in practice. This new guide also seeks to address the organisational defects that often inhibit the growth and development of many forms of economic enterprise, but specifically focuses on all forms of co-operative and mutual enterprise (CMEs).
